Supercars produced to benefit a charitable cause have been known to bring in some big bucks at auction. Ferrari is hoping to raise a sizeable amount of money to help the thousands of people that were displaced or injured as a result of this tragedy. The LaFerrari coupe is a hybrid powertrain that produces 789 hp from a V-12 engine that is paired with a 161 hp electric engine bringing the combined power output to 950 hp and a starting price tag of $1.5 million.
LaFerrari Number 500 will be Produced to Benefit Italian Earthquake Victims
The LaFerrari remains one of the most popular supercars to come out of Maranello since the Enzo. Only 499 examples were intended to be made, but Ferrari CEO Sergio Marchionne has authorized production of #500 to benefit those affected by the devastating earthquake that took place in August.
