This is the latest futuristic concept to be released as part
of BMW’s Vision Next series created to celebrate 100 years of the German brand.
Other futuristic concepts from Rolls-Royce, Mini, and BMW will be part of this
series. The Motorrad Vision Next 100 uses “Flexframe” technology that allows
the bike to turn without the normal joints that are found on a traditional
motorcycle. The concept centers around the entire frame of the bike moving to
change the direction while in motion. At low speeds, very little input is
required and at high speeds, the rider will need to apply a decent amount of
force. This should increase safety and reduce the drastic response that can be
experienced at high speeds on a traditional motorcycle through very small
movement.
BMW Unveils Motorrad Vision Next 100 Concept
BMW has shocked the world with the debut of a futuristic motorcycle concept that utilizes self-balancing systems to keep the bike upright both when standing and when in motion. This in theory creates a ride that eliminates the need to wear a helmet or protective clothing. The German automotive giant also included “Digital Companion” technology in the form of a visor that is controlled by eye movements and sends active feedback about road conditions to the rider while continuously making adjustments to the bike to accommodate the rider’s driving style.
