Slated to be released in 2017, the spyder version of Ferrari’s first attempt at a hybrid supercar will retain the exact powertrain that was used for the hardtop version. There will be several tweaks made to the chassis to compensate for any structural integrity that may be loss due to the removal of the roof. It remains unclear how much weight will be added to the LaFerrari to produce a Spyder Variant.
The LaFerrari was first introduced to the world back in 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show where the LaFerrari was able to capture the attention of the world. The LaFerrari remains the fastest road-legal version of a Ferrari to ever be produced and is the first Ferrari not to be designed by Pininfarina since 1973. Only 499 examples of the successor to the F50 were ever produced with the majority of these vehicles sold before the first vehicle went into production. This is an amazing feat considering that a LaFerrari carries a price tag of $1.7 million.
