Aston Martin Teams Up with Red Bull Racing to Create an Amazing Supercar
Red Bull Racing is one of the most successful teams in Formula 1. Now they have teamed up with Aston Martin to create a hypercar that has the capability of being raced on a track and still be able to be driven on the road. Andrew Newey, Red Bull Racing’s Chief Technical Officer and the world’s most successful F1 designer is responsible for the transmission and suspension for the supercar. While not all of the specs are currently known, the street-legal racer will feature a naturally aspirated V-12 engine and have a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. This power to weight ratio was achieved by using a complete carbon fiber body that is very durable and extremely lightweight.
EXOTIC CARS
“I’ve long harboured the desire to design a road car. The
formation of Red Bull Advanced Technologies brought me a step closer to realizing
that ambition, but I believed we should work with an automotive manufacturer.
Aston Martin was at the top of my list. The synergy between Red Bull Racing and
Aston Martin is clear. I knew Red Bull Racing had the ability to handle the
pure performance aspects, but Aston Martin’s experience of making beautiful,
fast and comfortable GT cars is of great benefit to the project. I’ve always
been adamant that the AM-RB 001 should be a true road car that’s also capable
of extreme performance on track, and this means it really has to be a car of
two characters. That’s the secret we’re trying to put into this car – the technology
that allows it to be docile and comfortable, but with immense outright
capabilities”. – Adrian Newey
The current name of the vehicle is a combination of initials
for each participating partner, AM-RB 001 (Aston Martin – Red Bull 001). This
is obviously a developmental name that the project is currently working under
as the Aston Martin legal department secures the rights to a properly fitting
name that will eventually belong to the supercar. Production numbers are
expected to be limited with only 99 – 150 examples being made to include
prototypes and 25 track-only examples. Expect the final price to be between
$2.5 -4 million. The ultra-limited track editions will obviously fetch a higher
price than the road versions of the hypercar. The first examples are expected
to be delivered sometime in 2018.

There are some cars that are just made for letting loose and having some fun. The Ferrari F430 Scuderia is the perfect choice for anyone who loves high-end over-the-top entertainment. U.S. Formula Drift series competitor Ryan Tuerck recently had the chance to get behind the wheel of the most expensive supercar he has ever drifted. The backdrop for this tire-shredding expedition is an old Vancouver runway affectionately referred to by the local drifting community as the “Skid Pad.” Before taking to the “Skid Pad”, Tuerck and his friends went for a stroll through the Vancouver city streets with two examples from the Prancing Horse and a Lamborghini Murcielago SV.
