Some of the biggest names in automotive aftermarket performance have partnered with Ford to create the Shelby GT350 “Ole Yeller” edition to include a set of custom lightweight wheels from Forgiato and tires from Pirelli. The “Ole Yeller” edition features plenty of carbon fiber accents courtesy of Mustang tuning house Carbon 2 Carbon and a premium audio system provided by Focal. All of the upgrades that have been made to this Shelby Mustang GT350 are purely cosmetic. The GT350 is equipped with the standard 5.2-liter V-8 engine that is capable of producing 562 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque.
Ford Unveils Shelby GT350 “Ole Yeller”
For the past 9 years, Ford has donated a special edition Mustang to the Experimental Aircraft Association’s Young Eagles program that is dedicated to empowering the next generation of young aviators. This year Ford has chosen to pay homage to one of the most popular fighter planes of World War II that has become a mainstay at air shows all around the country. The yellow P51D known to the public as “Ole Yeller” resides at the Legacy Flight Museum in Rexburg, ID, and is also a regular unlimited racer at the Reno National Championship Air Races. “Ole Yeller” has made over 1,000 air show performances in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
