Glickenhaus SCG 003 is a $1.3 Million Kit Car

To avoid all of the federal requirements for safety testing such as participating in crash testing, James Glickenhaus has decided to sell his latest street legal racer as a kit car. The effort to design the world’s most capable street legal supercar started in 2013 with two previous versions of the final design not making it out of testing.

The street legal version of the Glickenhaus SCG 003 will be known as the Stradale and is fully DOT compliant with turn signals and ABS. The power plant consists of a twin-turbo 4.4L V-8 engine that produces 800 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque.

2016 is proving to be a very positive year for the German auto maker as they enjoy the best sales numbers ever recorded for the month of August. Mercedes-Benz sold a total of 3,152 units in August with the C-Class, E-Class and GLC models representing the top sellers.
