In the world of exotic cars, we often hear about supercars like the Lamborghini Gallardo and the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. In more recent years, manufacturers have begun referring to some of their more powerful cars as “hypercars,” the most notable of these being the McLaren P1 and Ferrari’s LaFerrari. Now, thanks to Swedish automaker, Koenigsegg, the world of exotic cars can gather together and bear witness to the birth of the first “megacar,” the One:1.
The Koenigsegg One:1 calls itself a megacar, but this is far more than a cute title. The One:1 draws its odd name from its power-to-weight ratio, weighing in at 1340 kilograms (2954 pounds) and producing a massive 1340 metric horsepower from its 5L V8 engine. All that power stuffed into a car that sits just under 3000 pounds means that the Koenigsegg One:1 is the fastest accelerating exotic car from zero to 300 kilometers (186 miles per hour) in the world.
Once it hits 300 clicks, the One:1 keeps pushing as long as you do until it tops out at 439 kilometers per hour (272 miles per hour). When it comes to exotic cars, Koenigsegg’s One:1 may just be the cream of the crop, and it can be yours for the low, low price of $6 million dollars.
