From companies like BMW, McLaren, Dodge, to Tesla, it seems like everyone is opting to make 2020 the ultimate year for supercars.
- The Tesla Roadster
This all-new fully electric battery-powered sports car made by Tesla will be available to purchase beginning in 2020 and will be capable of 0 to 60mph in 1.9 seconds, making it faster than any legal street production car.
After the Roadster was revealed at the end of the Tesla Semi event in 2017, Musk was quoted saying about the car “The point of doing this is to give a hardcore smackdown to gasoline cars. Driving a gasoline sports car is going to feel like a steam engine with a side of quiche”.
2. Pininfarina Electric Hypercar
The creators of the new all-electric Battista hypercar are targeting a 2020 release date for this speedy streetcar, which is capable of outrunning a Formula One race car to 60mph in just under two seconds. In a previous statement, Pininfarina had suggested that a Battista will be able to hit 180mph in less time than an F-16 fighter jet.
The powerful engine of the Battista is composed of electric motors which are fed by a 120 kWh battery, which, when charged, will allow the car to drive on for an uninterrupted 300 miles.
3. Lamborghini Huracan Evo
The Huracan EVO is considered by Lamborghini to be the most successful version of a V10 in Lamborghini history. Here is a car that cares less about speed- but more about style. Instead of being overwhelmed by rows of mysterious buttons aligned in the center console, an 8.4-inch touchscreen is positioned between the two front seats. With the press of a button, the V-10 roars to life, it’s powerful engine rumbling at the ready.
The Huracan Evo is loud- louder than most cars, and it takes no talent to mash the throttle. IT comes with a Sport and Corsa mode- sport generating a louder sound, and Corsa the dampers tighten up and the steering becomes heavier, allowing for more serious action.
4. Porsche 911
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is still months away from its debut, but this all-wheel drive eight-speed dual-clutch automatic supercar boasts the ability to make 641 horsepower (477 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet (799 Newton-meters) of torque. Of course, these numbers may change before the car’s actual debut, retaining that it is still a significant increase over previous generations.
The twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six engine powering the Turbo S is able to send the car to 60 miles per house in just 2.5 seconds. According to Porsche, the top speed of the car is 205 mph. In examining performance credentials alone, there is no doubt that this car will live up to the Turbo S name.
5. The 2020 Ferrari Roma
This latest model coup straight from Maranello headquarters is named after the country’s capital- Rome. The Roma is equipped with a 611-hp turbocharged V-8 engine. The company has made claims of a 3.3-second acceleration to 60mph with a max speed of just below 200mph.
This lightweight all-new model is inspired by some of the company’s most influential designs, producing a timeless, dynamic body. If this sleek, authentic Ferrari model drives as well as it looks, it just may be one of the best Ferrari GT models yet.
