“Cars and Coffee” Finds New Home at SPEEDVEGAS

Hundreds of automotive enthusiasts from all over the Las Vegas valley and tourists from around the world gathered this weekend to celebrate the debut of Cars and Coffee at SPEEDVEGAS. Every Saturday morning between 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. proud collector car owners and fans converge to showcase their exotic, vintage, and muscle cars along with motorcycles, concepts and hotrods. Several hundred cars are typically on display every weekend with examples from some of the biggest names in automotive to include Ferrari, Audi, Porsche, Chevrolet and Dodge.

Due to the growing popularity of this weekly event, organizers began looking for a new location that would not only be able to accommodate future growth but also serve as an attraction that would help to promote car culture in Southern Nevada.

“SPEEDVEGAS is a brand-new, $30 million motorsports complex situated just minutes from where the event took place for years. With 10 acres and a spacious new 2-story building, we quickly determined it would be the perfect place for Cars and Coffee,” says Salomon Braun, president, Cars and Coffee. “With this new location, we expect the event to draw more crowds and cars than ever before.”

The debut of Cars and Coffee at SPEEDVEGAS saw many local celebrity builds to include the infamous D-Rod Destroyer from the reality television car building series “WelderUp.” The unique rat rod is dedicated to Keith Crabb, who served on a Destroyer during World War II. This build was specifically designed to honor those who served in the Second World War regardless of branch of service.

The D-Rod Destroyer is a Ford Model A that has been equipped with a 1200 hp Cummins diesel engine customized with 130lbs of boost delivered from four bottles of Nitrous. When you have a custom vehicle that is as unique as the D-Rod Destroyer, it is important to make sure that the hauler is equally as unique. For this mission, the boys at WelderUp put their skills to work on creating the massive 1996 Peterbilt Rat Rod that made its debut at SEMA 2015. This hauler is more of a moving piece of art than anything else and is guaranteed to be the center of conversation at every show.

Admission to this all-ages event is free from 7:00 a.m. to 10 p.m. with the track opening to the public starting at 10 a.m.

SPEEDVEGAS is the award-winning 100-acre motorsports complex. Guests experience the world’s most sought-after muscle cars and exotic supercars from Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Audi, McLaren and more. The $30 million SPEEDVEGAS experience features an impressive 1.5-mile (2.4 km) Formula One-inspired racetrack comparable to top circuits in the world, and includes 12 sweeping turns, 20-degree banked turns, 60 feet of total elevation change and a half-mile straightaway. The track at SPEEDVEGAS is the only track of its kind in the world designed specifically so the public can enjoy supercar driving experiences. In addition, the 20,000-square-foot, 2-story welcome center features indoor and outdoor observation decks, food and beverage selections at a well-appointed café, meetings and event space and much more. SPEEDVEGAS is located just minutes south of the world-famous “Welcome to Las Vegas” sign.
