Zapata Racing has developed a wide variety of water-propelled devices including the original Flyboard that attaches to a personal watercraft such as a jet ski through the use of a long hose. What makes this latest achievement so extraordinary is that the latest version of this design operates independently of any land based watercraft. The Flyboard Air operates from four RC jet turbines that are located on the bottom of the board and act as the primary propulsion system. The Flyboard Air uses additional turbines on the side of the board to assist with stability. Those that are looking to get their hands on a Flyboard Air will need to log a minimum of 100 hours on the original Flyboard before being able to purchase the latest hoverboard. While the fact that both the Flyboard and the Flyboard Air were tested over water has lead to some confusion and even disbelief, it is important to keep in mind that Zapata chose a water route for the Flyboard Air as a safety precaution.
