Several of the more obvious body changes that are taking
place on the 2018 Mercedes AMG GT R include a new front grille, oversized
wide-body kit, limited edition wheels and a completely revamped aerodynamic
package. The 2018 AMG GT R also introduces an amazing new color named Green
Hell Magno that is eye-catching in every way. Some of the other features taking
center stage in the new aero kit include an extra-large rear wing, oversized
front splitter, and active front louvers.
The 2018 Mercedes AMG GT R will use the same 4.0-liter
twin-turbo V-8 engine that is found on the current AMG GT S model. The GT R
will benefit from a performance increase of 74 horsepower and 37 lb-ft more
torque providing for a total power output of 577 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of
torque. A larger turbocharger has been added to the AMG GT R and the very reliable
seven-speed dual-clutch automated transmission is also present. Performance
stats for the Green Hell Magno AMG GT R are downright dizzying. Expect to
launch from standing position to 60 mph in exactly 3.5 seconds with a top speed
of 198 mph.
