Stepping into the driver’s seat of an exotic car like the Ferrari 458 Italia or a Porsche 911 can be an exhilarating, but also intimidating experience. Where are the controls? What are all these
different drive modes? What does launch control even do? If this sounds like too much to handle for you, take a deep breath, and follow our beginner’s guide to driving exotic cars.
- Mental Preparation: Driving a high performance supercar like the ones found at SPEEDVEGAS is a complex task. As with any complex task, proper mental preparation goes a long way. Try and envision yourself driving the course before you actually do, you’ll be surprised how helpful it ends up being.
- Scanning: Keep your eyes constantly moving and analyzing the environment. By getting too fixated on a single spot, you are actually creating a mental blind spot in front of yourself. Keep your eyes scanning from left to right and keep a mental note of what you see on the course. By paying attention to the track, it will make subsequent laps far easier.
- Look Ahead: We rely on our sense of vision more than almost any of our other senses. Your eyesight controls how prepared you are for upcoming turns and consequently, how smoothly you drive. Looking ahead on the course not only gets you through the course smoothly, it helps you concentrate as well.
This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to driving a high performance supercar, but don’t worry, our expert team of driving instructors at SPEEDVEGAS will make sure you are fully prepared when you get behind the wheel. Located just 10 minutes away from the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, SPEEDVEGAS is sure to be an unforgettable experience for any car enthusiast. SPEEDVEGAS is scheduled to open in March of 2016.
