Spy Shots: Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera Spotted at Nurburgring
All of the rumors that a lighter and presumably faster Lamborghini Huracan was in the works proved true when a recent video surfaced that were taken at the famed Nurburgring showing a heavily camouflaged Lamborghini Superleggera taking in some laps. The Superleggera is a stripped-down version of the production car that normally also sees improvements made to the suspension and other aspects of the exotic that help to create a more track friendly experience.
EXOTIC CARS
Weight reduction is commonly achieved by the heavy use of
carbon fiber. For the Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, Carbon fiber
components were used extensively to include the mirrors, seats, and door
panels. All of these carbon fiber parts helped to reduce the Gallardo by 220
lbs over the standard production model. Even the wheel lugs of the Gallardo
Superleggera were crafted out of titanium to reduce even more weight.
Lamborghini has yet to release any information on the performance stats or
changes that are being made for the Lamborghini Huracan Superleggera. This has
led many to believe that the Superleggera will only be released in rear wheel
drive since the front axels and differential work against the goal of reducing
weight.
